El miércoles 7 de abril se llevará a cabo dos mesas técnicas de minería, una en Irra y otra en Manizales.
Tras la solicitud expresa del gobernador Victor Manuel Tamayo Vargas, el Ministro de Minas y Energía, Diego Mesa hizo presencia en las últimas horas en la Gobernación de Risaralda para adelantar una reunión con los mandatarios departamentales y municipales de Risaralda y Caldas, delegados de los mineros y familiares de los mismos, con el objetivo de buscar soluciones de fondo a esta problemática que con frecuencia genera tragedia y pérdidas humanas.
Como resultado de este encuentro, el funcionario del Gobierno Nacional aclaró que la prioridad en este momento es el rescate de los 11 mineros desaparecidos, para lo cual destacó el trabajo articulado que se viene adelantando con las diferentes entidades.
“Hoy logramos movilizar una motobomba para agilizar la succión de agua, el traslado de retroexcavadora hay un compromiso permanente del gobierno nacional en articulación con los gobiernos departamentales para adelantar las labores de rescate, segundo punto los procesos de formalización y reactivar la mesa del rio Cauca para apoyar a los pequeños mineros que tienen vocación de legalidad y han ejercido este proceso por varios años para sumar a los más de 4000 mineros legalizados en lo que va corrido de este Gobierno” informó Diego Mesa, Ministro de Minas y Energía.
Por su parte el gobernador Victor Manuel Tamayo manifestó su solidaridad con los familiares de los mineros desaparecidos en la mina de Neira Caldas, quienes en un gran porcentaje pertenecen al corregimiento de Irra en Risaralda. Adicionalmente señaló que ha enviado mercados, combustible y una retro excavadora.
“Los mineros son personas humildes, quienes necesitan de nosotros para encontrar soluciones a sus principales problemáticas, ellos trabajan para su sustento y por eso en muchos casos arriesgan sus vidas. Celebro que a partir de hoy haya una hoja de ruta con la reactivación de estas mesas técnicas, donde todos los actores nos sentemos a buscar soluciones sociales a una comunidad tan grande que tiene la esperanza puesta en el Ministro, en los Gobernadores y en sus alcaldes”.
Actualmente en Quinchía hay más 10 zonas de minería artesanal y cerca de 2000 familias que subsisten de este ejercicio. Según datos del Ministerio de Mina y Energía en Risaralda hay 194 mineros formalizados y 300 en proceso de serlo.
Benjamín Elías Tabarquino en representación de la Asociación de Mineros Artesanales de Caldas y Quinchía reconoció el interés, que por primera vez evidencia de parte del gobierno para legalizar y acompañar el gremio de los mineros “hace mucho tiempo atrás, con el gobierno nacional hemos tratado de hacer esta mesa técnica y mirar la problemática, nosotros no somos delincuentes, somos personas honradas”.
