El Instituto de Movilidad, en su compromiso de seguir haciendo de Pereira una ciudad con más educación vial y más segura para todos los actores en la vía, viene realizando actividades de pedagogía dirigidas a los peatones y ciclistas, con las campañas: “Soy un peatón seguro en la vía” y “La Capital del Eje se moviliza en bici”.
Bajo el liderazgo de Elianed García, coordinadora General del Grupo de Educación Vial, la estrategia fue implementada a diario por un grupo de educadores que recorrieron las diferentes vías de la ciudad. En diferentes zonas hicieron un acompañamiento permanente a los ciudadanos siempre bajo la premisa de educar antes que sancionar.
Algunas de las actividades de la campaña educativa: “Soy un peatón seguro en la vía” se desarrollaron en los reductores pompeyanos ubicados a la altura del Centro Comercial Victoria y el Centro Comercial Pereira Plaza, concientizando a conductores y peatones de la importancia de este elemento en la vía para reducir la accidentalidad.
Es deber de los conductores respetar estos reductores, disminuir la velocidad y permitir el paso seguro de los peatones. De igual modo se hace el llamado a los peatones para que crucen con precaución, sin elementos distractores, ni haciendo uso de los dispositivos móviles mientras caminan, ya que eso constituye una de las causas de caídas y accidentalidad.
PARA DESTACAR
Los Pompeyanos o reductores de velocidad tipo pompeyano son elementos construidos para garantizar la seguridad del peatón y priorizar su paso, de forma autónoma y segura, cuando la franja de andén es interceptada por el paso vehicular.
Su implantación en el espacio público depende de los estudios de tráfico realizados por el organismo de tránsito y movilidad de cada ciudad, quienes definen las intersecciones donde sea necesario implementar este tipo de soluciones. Los elementos de un reductor pompeyano lo componen una rampa de acceso, una rampa de salida, franja de circulación a nivel, mobiliario urbano y señalización.
Así mismo se realizó la jornada “La Capital del Eje se Moviliza en bici”, donde además de sensibilizar a los ciclistas en medidas de prevención, en respeto por el semáforo, las señales de tránsito y los demás actores viales, se hizo despeje de zonas de prohibido parqueo en la carrera 7º entre calles 12 a la 30. Esta labor articulada se hace con el apoyo los biciagentes para lograr una recuperación total de la ciclo banda y ciclorruta que cada día es invadida por vehículos, motocicletas y ventas ambulantes, generando riesgo para los biciusuarios que se desplazan en este medio alternativo de transporte.
