La más reciente medición del Dane, vuelve a ratificar a Pereira como una de las ciudades del país con menor desempleo, inclusive por debajo del promedio nacional.
Pereira en el trimestre mayo-julio 2017 tiene una tasa de desempleo de 9,3, frente a una tasa de 11,0 comparando el mismo periodo del año anterior (mayo-julio 2016), lo que significa una reducción de 1,7 puntos porcentuales.
“Esta administración, en asocio con los gobiernos de Dosquebradas y La Virginia, entre el 2016 y el 2017, han logrado aumentar en 16 mil los puestos de trabajo en la ciudad, se observa el esfuerzo de sus gobernantes. 5 mil ocupaciones generadas, se dieron en personas que llevaban tiempo buscando ocupación y otras 11 mil, se generaron entre la población nueva y flotante”, afirma Jhonier Cardona Salazar, Subsecretario de Planeación Socioeconómica de Pereira.
El sector industrial aumentó sus ocupaciones en 6 mil. Las otras diez mil ocupaciones correspondieron a los sectores terciario, de servicios, sociales y personales.
Pereira se ha sostenido en el descenso de su tasa de desempleo, aún frente a las condiciones que se dan a nivel nacional”; indicó Jhonier Cardona Salazar.
