Erradicar el trabajo infantil en Impala, es el objetivo

  • En operativo pedagógico, el Comité Interinstitucional de Erradicación del Trabajo Infantil (CIETI), abordó a la población habitual de la plaza de mercado Impala; sensibilizando y dando a conocer las condiciones que determinan el trabajo infantil y su importancia de prevenirlo por el futuro de los niños.

“El objetivo de este operativo de concientización, es presentar una advertencia a los padres antes de tomar medidas sancionatorias y de restablecimiento de derechos, en los cuales los niños, niñas y adolescentes son puestos en custodia del ICBF”. Aseguró Nora Oyola Cutiva, secretaria de Desarrollo Social y Político de Pereira.

La jornada articulada con las autoridades administrativas de la Plaza, contó con la participación de cerca de 40 integrantes del CIETI, quienes por equipos recorrieron local por local, ubicaron carteles informativos y realizaron reconocimiento de territorio e identificación de casos. Durante la jornada solo fue identificado un menor de 15 años a quien se le brindó el acompañamiento, sin embargo, las personas manifiestan que en las horas de carga es donde más presencia de menores se presenta.

Por su parte, Paola Rozo Díaz, gerente de la Plaza de Mercado Impala, indicó que su interés fue hacer un llamado a las autoridades competentes y encargadas de apoyar la sensibilización y desarrollar en conjunto el proyecto de erradicación de trabajo infantil ya que han identificado una presencia importante de menores, especialmente de nacionalidad venezolana, a quienes sus padres vinculan en la ejecución de actividades de trabajo. “Hemos logrado identificar que son varias familias”, puntualizó.

La comunidad abordada acogió el mensaje del Gobierno de la Ciudad y las instituciones aliadas para continuar con la prevención de las diferentes formas de trabajo que vulneran los derechos de los niños, niñas y adolescentes, además de que demostró su interés por conocer la oferta institucional e informarse sobre cómo enfrentar diferentes problemáticas asociadas a la explotación sexual y comercial de los NNA, el trabajo infantil y el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas.

Finalmente, como compromisos de la jornada se determinó que próximamente se realizará un operativo en las horas de carga y adicionalmente un recorrido mensual por parte del equipo de infancia de la Secretaría de Desarrollo Social y Político de Pereira.

El Programa de Infancia del Municipio, Secretaría de Salud, Policía, ICBF, Secretaría de Gobierno, Ministerio del Trabajo, Migración Colombia, Fiscalía (Futuro Colombia), Secretaría de Educación, Secretaría de Deportes, Personería Municipal, Atesa de Occidente y la Asociación de Migrantes Venezolanos; fueron las entidades presentes en la jornada.
