En el marco de la firma del convenio de cooperación internacional realizado por la Cámara de Comercio de Pereira y la Asociación de Comercio e Industria de Aruba (ATIA) que se oficializó esta mañana, el presidente de la cámara Mauricio Vega Lemus, señaló que desde este mismo instante ambas entidades empezarán a aunar esfuerzos para lograr que la ruta aérea Pereira-Aruba-Pereira sea una realidad.
Aseguró que lograr una ruta de este tipo será determinante para promocionar el Paisaje Cultural Cafetero, más si se tiene en cuenta que según cifras de la agencia de turismo Colombian Adventure, firma facilitadora del convenio, al 2020 se estima que puedan llegar a esta zona del país 3000 turistas arubianos.
“Firmar un convenio de cooperación internacional de este tipo, nos abre una nueva puerta hacia el mundo, hoy con la firma del proceso de paz tenemos un país distinto que es reconocido por la comunidad internacional, de nosotros dependerá que las potencialidades únicas que tiene nuestro territorio se aprovechen al máximo”, aseguró Mauricio Vega Lemus quien añadió que este es el primero de varios convenios de cooperación internacional que se firmarán desde Pereira, destacándose el que se firmará en próximos meses con la Asociación de Municipios de Holanda en el marco de las ciudades sostenibles y competitivas del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo.
Por su parte el presidente de ATIA, Ronald Van Trigt, explicó que tanto para Aruba como para el Paisaje Cultural Cafetero un convenio de este tipo será totalmente provechoso, ya que la idea es trabajar conjuntamente por gestionar proyectos que permitan trabajar en intereses comunes.
“Queremos ser un puente entre países, tenemos una gran conectividad con el mundo, la idea es que personas de Colombia conozcan nuestra región y que arubianos y sobre todo turistas europeos que visitan nuestro país y que son amantes del turismo ecológico tengan la posibilidad de conocer el Paisaje Cultural Cafetero”, puntualizó el señor Van Trigt.
