Según cifras del Ministerio de las TIC, Colombia superó los 209.000 teletrabajadores por cuenta de la pandemia.
Las restricciones de movilidad ante la pandemia del COVID-19 impulsaron la modalidad de trabajo en casa en el año 2020, ya que 209.173 empleados se convirtieron en teletrabajadores durante este periodo. Esta cifra representó un incremento de 71 % con respecto a 2018, cuando solo había 122.278.
Estas cifras fueron reveladas en el quinto estudio de Penetración y Percepción del Teletrabajo presentado por Iván Durán, viceministro de Transformación Digital del Ministerio de las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (TIC).
De esta manera, el funcionario reveló que el trabajo remoto, en sus diferentes modalidades, no solamente ha transformado la vida de los trabajadores y las empresas sino que permitió a muchas compañías no caer en bancarrota durante la crisis.
Así lo expresó Durán: “Ha servido de impulso para que (las empresas) den el paso hacia lo digital y a un uso más flexible del tiempo. De hecho, el estudio muestra que, al interior de las empresas, las áreas administrativas y financieras duplicaron su adopción de teletrabajo entre 2018 y 2020, pasando de 44 % a 80 %”.
En la misma línea, Durán sostuvo que la forma de trabajar no será la misma que existía antes de la pandemia, pues aunque las personas eventualmente volverán a las oficinas, es posible que haya una dinámica más flexible.
“Las empresas se dieron cuenta de que las personas pueden ser productivas estando en casa y manejando su tiempo”, concluyó el viceministro Durán.
