- El documento, que compartieron las dos campañas, señala que los programas de ambas campañas se integrarán para darles “respuestas efectivas a las necesidades y a los sueños” de los colombianos.
La excongresista y líder del partido Verde Oxígeno, Íngrid Betancourt, hizo oficial su retiro de la contienda presidencial para unirse a la campaña del candidato Rodolfo Hernández en las elecciones presidenciales del próximo 29 de mayo.
En el anuncio Betancourt, que también hizo parte de la Coalición Centro Esperanza –la cual abandonó por supuestos incumplimientos de algunos precandidatos a los acuerdos pactados–, aseguró que tomó la decisión de apoyar al exalcalde de Bucaramanga porque es el “único candidato que hoy puede derrotar el sistema”.
“Es el único candidato del centro, no nos importa si es de derecha o izquierda, lo que nos importa es que sea limpio, honesto, sin estar amarrado a las maquinarias y sin deberle favores a nadie. El único que puede llegar a segunda vuelta y derrotar o a Petro o a Gutiérrez”, afirmó la ahora excandidata en un evento en Barranquilla.
La ahora excandidata aseguró que coincide con Hernández en varios intereses como la lucha contra la corrupción y acabar con las maquinarias que, según Betancourt, han afectado a los colombianos en los últimos años.
Por eso, antes de anunciar la adhesión de la única candidata mujer a la campaña del ingeniero –que repuntó en las últimas encuestas–, ambos firmaron un acuerdo en el que se comprometieron a luchar y acabar la pobreza, la inseguridad, el cambio climático, la corrupción, entre otros temas.
“Esta decisión se fundamenta en la convicción de que es más lo que une a los dos candidatos que lo que nos separa, en el entendido de ofrecerle a las colombianas y colombianos una opción presidencial que los congregue en torno a una misma filosofía respecto al manejo ético de lo público, y en la lucha sin cuartel a la politiquería y a la corrupción que de ella se deriva”, señalaron los políticos en el documento.
De igual manera, en el acuerdo señalaron que los programas de ambas campañas para derrotar la inseguridad, acabar con la pobreza y defender el medio ambiente se integrarán para darle “respuestas efectivas a las necesidades y a los sueños de los habitantes”.
Durante el anuncio de su adhesión a la campaña de Hernández, la ahora excandidata por el partido Verde Oxígeno aprovechó para hacerle un llamado a Sergio Fajardo, candidato de la Coalición Centro Esperanza, para que se sume a este mismo proyecto político.
“Esta es la única decisión que vale la pena tomar en estos momentos, no pueden haber consideraciones de otro tipo, ni económicas, ni jurídicas, sólo lo que le conviene a Colombia, deponiendo nuestros intereses personales, sin ambición personal, sin egos, por Colombia, uniéndonos, esta es la campaña en donde podemos unirnos”, enfatizó Betancourt.
