Para poner en contexto, la Asociación Americana de Ginecólogos Laparoscopistas (AAGL) es la entidad que agrupa el mayor número de especialistas de esta rama a nivel mundial, además es el ente rector y responsable directo en Estados Unidos y Canadá del entrenamiento en cirugía mínimamente invasiva, asimismo, sus programas de formación se caracterizan por los más altos estándares de calidad técnica y académica por el elevado grado de exigencia para lograr un desempeño superior de sus graduandos.
Es así como la Unidad Algia y La Clínica Comfamiliar Risaralda en alianza con La Clínica del Prado, desde hace varios años decidieron comprometerse con este proceso de formación, primero como sitio de práctica de la Universidad CES y posteriormente solicitaron a la AAGL la evaluación de sus programas de entrenamiento, optando así por la consecución de su aval.
Gracias a este programa, la Dra. Cuello tuvo la oportunidad de realizar rotaciones en cirugía ginecológica laparoscópica básica y avanzada, cirugía histeroscópica avanzada, histeroscopia oficinal, oncología ginecológica laparoscópica, cirugía vaginal y de piso pélvico, cirugía endoscópica para infertilidad y manejo integral del dolor pélvico crónico.
