El expresidente se pronunció cuestionando a quienes promueven el desmonte de templos religiosos.
Luego de la polémica que se generó por el desmonte de la capilla católica que estaba ubicada en el Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado de Bogotá, ahora algunos congresistas quieren que se haga lo mismo con la capilla que está ubicada en el Capitolio Nacional.
Representantes como Juan Carlos Losada, Alirio Uribe, Luis Alberto Albán, entre otros, consideran que ese lugar debe transformarse en un sitio de culto neutro para que cualquier visitante o funcionario pueda ejercer allí su derecho a la libertad de culto.
A raíz de esto, el expresidente Álvaro Uribe se pronunció cuestionando a quienes promueven el desmonte de templos religiosos.
“En Colombia, donde se respeta a todas las religiones, cerrar un templo no es estimular la libertad de culto sino ofender a la religión a la cual está dedicada el templo que se pretende cerrar”, indicó.
Y dijo: “La libertad de cultos exige respeto a todos, que haya tantos templos como quieran las comunidades, pero a nadie hay que quitarle o limitarle su templo, que solamente crea tensiones que pueden tener cualquier desarrollo de agresividad y violencia”.
En el Centro Democrático también arremeten contra la posibilidad de acabar con las capillas. El senador Andrés Guerra advirtió que nadie puede utilizar su ideología para acabar con los referentes religiosos que hay en el país.
“Se acaban las capillas en el país y van a iniciar con las del Congreso, para convertirlas en cultos neutros. Ni más faltaba. Si quieren ser laicos allá ellos, pero abusar y aprovecharse con su ideología para acabar con todos los referentes religiosos del país, entre ellos los espacios de la fe católica, es una estrategia avanzada de la izquierda descarada, también van por una victoria cultural en lo religioso. No al proyecto de ley de acabar con las capillas en el Congreso”, sostuvo.
Por ahora no hay una decisión de la mesa directiva frente a este asunto, pero se espera que pronto haya claridad sobre si permanecerá o no la capilla católica en el Congreso de la República.
