Aunque varias personas han querido comprarle su negocio, don Omar señala que muchos pocillos de café quedan por servir, y que todavía hay para rato, ‘si Dios lo permite’.
“Tinto Parao” es uno de los sitios emblemáticos de Santa Rosa de Cabal. Fuel el Primer Café al Paso que tuvo el municipio. No es más que llegar al parque de Las Araucarias para encontrar este emblemático establecimiento atendido por Omar de Jesús Del Río – propietario-, que viene sirviendo hasta hoy y por casi treinta años uno de los mejores “tintos” de la localidad.
Inicialmente el local se llamaba “Café Capuchino”, pero se fue difundiendo en la población que allí se vendía un buen café y los transeúntes empezaron a hacer ‘un pare en el camino’ para deleitarse de la bebida insignia nacional. Con el afán de los ciudadanos todo el que llegaba empezó a tomarse rápidamente un “Tinto Parao”. “Al principio no me gustaba este nombre; pero la clientela le fue gustando que hoy está registrado el negocio ante Cámara de Comercio como “Tinto Parao”, explicó Del Rio.
Al tiempo, don Omar señala que por este lugar han pasado personalidades muy importantes como senadores, gobernadores, candidatos presidenciales y deportistas de talla mundial; señalando que el éxito que ha tenido radica en ofrecer un café de excelente calidad, además del esmero en la buena atención que siempre está acompañada por música colombiana.
“Aquí estuvieron nuestra glorias del ciclismo Martin Emilio “Cochise Rodríguez” y Álvaro Mejía. Siempre he sido aficionado a este deporte y encontrármelos en mi negocio y cruzar algunas palabras con ellos al calor de un buen café, pues para que pedir más”, explica don Omar con una grata sonrisa de satisfacción.
A “Tinto Parao” llegan con frecuencia muchos extranjeros que les llama la atención el nombre, dice don Omar. La mayoría se dirigen a los termales y regresan a la plaza principal para repetir más café.
Sin desmeritar los demás establecimientos de la localidad don Omar señala que “Tinto Parao” es un sitio obligado para tomarse un café en Santa Rosa de Cabal. Sin embargo afirma que todo no ha sido color de rosa pues el Parque de Las Araucarias que ha venido acompañando su negocio en las últimas tres décadas ha tenido cambios negativos, pues administraciones anteriores con distintas obras ‘borraron’ su diseño original. “Nuestro parque tenía en su piso unas lozas muy bonitas pero llegaron con unas máquinas rompieron y lo que hicieron fue pavimentarlo y formar unas figuras ordinarias, diría yo.
Entre los hobbies que don Omar tenía está la fotografía, quien alcanzó a presentar una exposición en Pereira. “Me gustaba la fotografía rural porque a donde uno salía por la geografía colombiana encontraba maravillas. Pero ahora los años no dan las energías para salir y buscar las grandes imágenes”. Con las cámaras de hoy y los avances de la tecnología, considero que se ha perdido la esencia de la fotografía de tener buen ojo para plasmar el instante preciso. Ahora se toma y en la misma cámara o el computador se le quita –edita- aspectos esenciales a las fotos. explica.
En el marco de los 50 años de Risaralda, desde su vitrina en “Tinto Parao” don Omar envía un mensaje a todos los risaraldenses para que vuelvan al civismo. “El respeto por los demás y el sentido de pertenencia por la tierra deben volver; pues hoy andamos de afán atropellándonos en los hogares y en las avenidas al no respetarse las familias, los vecinos, las señales de tránsito y al peatón.
