Esta es la primera visita oficial de un presidente colombiano a Caracas en casi una década, desde que Juan M. Santos fue recibido por Maduro, en 2013, durante el funeral de Hugo Chávez.
El presidente de Colombia, Gustavo Petro, llegó este martes a Caracas para reunirse con su par venezolano, Nicolás Maduro, en el primer encuentro entre ambos mandatarios desde el restablecimiento de relaciones luego de tres años de ruptura diplomática.
El avión de la Fuerza Aérea Colombiana aterrizó poco antes de la 1:40 p. m., en el aeropuerto Simón Bolívar, que presta su servicio a Caracas.
El mandatario colombiano fue recibido por la vicepresidenta Delcy Rodríguez y el canciller Carlos Faría, y rápidamente abordó un automóvil para dirigirse al palacio presidencial de Miraflores, donde transcurrió la reunión con Maduro.
En el encuentro, Petro y Maduro abordaron asuntos como el fortalecimiento del Sistema Interamericano de DD. HH., la integración comercial y la dignificación de las migraciones.
Luego de la reunión, los mandatarios entregaron un balance de los asuntos que trataron en este primer encuentro bilateral.
El primero en hacer uso de la palabra fue Maduro, quien calificó la cumbre de “fructífera, intensa y extensa”.
“Tenemos un destino común entre nuestros pueblos. Hemos conversado ampliamente sobre las relaciones comerciales y económicas; sobre los nuevos pasos hacia una apertura total y asegurada de la frontera, sobre el fortalecimiento de la cooperación entre Monómeros y todo el trabajo que tiene que ver con el tema de los fertilizantes (…)”, detalló Maduro.
Otro de los asuntos que pusieron en la mesa fue el reintegro de Venezuela a la Comunidad Andina.
“Queremos invitar a Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia y Perú a reintegrar a Venezuela como miembro de la Comunidad Andina, con todos los poderes, derechos y deberes”, dijo Petro.
El mandatario colombiano también hizo un llamado para que Venezuela se reintegre al sistema interamericano de derechos humanos.
Para Petro, es “antinatural” que Colombia y Venezuela se vuelvan a separar, como ocurrió hace tres años.
“Separar las naciones es una aventura suicida (…). Después de seis años se vuelven a reunir dos presidentes de estas naciones. Hay que recomenzar un camino que es difícil pero que hay que andar”, agregó el presidente Petro.
Los mandatarios se comprometieron a defender la Amazonía en la próxima cumbre mundial contra el cambio climático en Egipto. “La selva amazónica es un pilar, entre cuatro fundamentales, para el equilibrio climático del planeta y que hoy está en peligro”, aseguró el jefe de Estado colombiano.
Para mantener los diálogos comerciales entre los países hermanos, Petro propuso desarrollar un encuentro con empresarios en Cartagena. Una propuesta que queda en la mesa.
Finalmente, se habló de los giros que han tenido los gobiernos en América Latina, los cuales marcan una tendencia a la izquierda, catalogada por Petro como “un faro para la democracia mundial”.
