El huevo es uno de los alimentos más consumidos en el país, según la Federación Nacional de Avicultores de Colombia (Fenavi), este año se consumieron per cápita 315 huevos.
Sin embargo, el precio del alimento ha subido este año, de acuerdo con Fenavi el huevo ha tenido más de un 30% de inflación en el 2022.
“La inflación cerró este año en huevo en el 36% y en pollo en el 15%, pero también, se aumentó el costo de las materias primas se incrementó el precio de producir pollo y huevo en un 28.1%, que es el alimento concentrado en un 80% del costo”, dijo Gonzalo Moreno, presidente de Fenavi.
A su vez, señaló que este año debido al alto costo de los insumos se ha presentado un decrecimiento en la producción de huevo superior al 4%.
“En el caso del huevo, tenemos un decrecimiento del 4.6%, cerramos el año con 16.260.000 huevos, son 769 millones de huevos menos que lo que tuvimos el año pasado que se explica por lo que es de público conocimiento de los bloqueos que tuvimos el año pasado que todavía siguen afectando este año la producción”, aseguró el dirigente gremial.
Desde el gremio se espera que el otro año, en el caso del huevo se lleguen a los mismos niveles de producción que se presentaron en el 2021 que fueron cercanos a 17.000 millones de huevos con un consumo per cápita de los 330 huevos.
De otro lado, Fenavi dijo que en el caso de la producción de pollo este año se van a producir 2.794.837 toneladas, “se divide en un crecimiento de pollo del 7.3% a 1.818.021 toneladas lo que nos da un consumo per cápita de pollo colombiano de más o menos 36.3 kilos, sumado a 1.2 kilos que bien pueden ser importados, sería un poquito más de 37 kilos que cerramos este año”, puntualizó Moreno.
