El verde de árboles, el azul de un cielo puro y el transparente del agua cristalina, engalanan al pulmón de la Capital Musical de Colombia.
Por años, el Cañón del Combeima ha sido el destino natural consentido de los ibaguereños, convirtiéndose en un referente nacional de ecoturismo y el destino de los lugareños para desconectarse de la ciudad y pasar días de tranquilidad.
Ubicado en el departamento del Tolima, este sitio recibe su nombre por ser el paso del río Combeima, cuyas aguas están rodeadas por kilómetros y kilómetros de montañas verdes, que asemejan a esos paisajes europeos tan famosos en redes sociales.
La misión de los ciudadanos ha sido la de cuidar este lugar y no permitir el avance de ninguna obra industrial que ponga en riesgo el nacimiento de agua que abastece a toda la capital del Departamento, y el hogar de cientos de animales silvestres.
Para creer hay que ver, y si usted no ha visitado el Cañón del Combeima en Ibagué debe hacerlo: allí encontrará sitios para acampar con el sonido del agua, hoteles resort, glamping, deportes extremos, avistamiento de aves y un punto gastronómico inigualable. Además, llegar es muy fácil, pues en Ibagué existen incluso rutas de busetas públicas que lo llevan por solo 2.800 pesos.
Fue declarado destino turístico sostenible
Recientemente, el Instituto Colombiano de Normas Técnicas y Certificación, Icontec, envió a la Alcaldía de Ibagué recibió el certificado en calidad turística en la NTS-TS-001-1 Turismo Sostenible, del Cañón del Combeima. La entidad destacó el compromiso de la Administración en promover una sostenibilidad amigable entre el ambiente, la economía y la cultura del sector.
“Acabamos de recibir la recertificación de nuestro Cañón que avala la calidad turística de la zona. Esta recertificación es una herramienta para la promoción de este destino y nos da reconocimiento nacional e internacional, al ser uno de los 27 destinos en Colombia líder en turismo sostenible”, manifestó Alba Lucía García, secretaria de Desarrollo Económico.
Y agregó: “Para nosotros es muy importante haber logrado nuevamente el proceso de certificación, creemos que el sector turismo debe seguir creciendo y fortaleciéndose a nivel local como una fuente de ingresos, empleo y oportunidades para la región. La relevancia de este sector y su cadena de valor, nos lleva a seguir buscando el reconocimiento de las buenas prácticas de esta zona como destino para turistas nacionales y extranjeros”.
Diferentes han sido las estrategias que se han implementado desde la Administración Municipal para alcanzar este propósito de la mano con la comunidad: la entrega de paneles solares, filtros de agua, y capacitaciones en torno a la conservación, el consumo responsable, ahorro y uso eficiente del agua y energía, así como la preservación de los recursos naturales, han sido algunas de las actividades.
