Por unanimidad, la plenaria de la Cámara de Representantes aprobó en séptimo debate el proyecto de acto legislativo que busca reducir un mes las vacaciones de los congresistas, que actualmente tienen receso del 20 de junio al 20 de julio y del 16 de diciembre al 16 de marzo.
“Es una gran alegría poder compartir que sacamos adelante el séptimo de ocho debates de este acto legislativo, que durante diez años ha sido repetidamente archivado por el Congreso. Un reconocimiento muy especial a todas las fuerzas políticas que, sin distingos, han apoyado esta iniciativa, para que el Congreso tenga un mes más para tramitar las normas, muchas de ellas de iniciativa de congresistas, y para hacer control político”, indicó el representante Julio César Triana.
Para el congresista de Cambio Radical, que es ponente de este proyecto, es fundamental que la mesa directiva de la Cámara agende la iniciativa tan pronto sea posible. “Esperamos que en ocho días, como ordena la ley, esté agendado en la plenaria de Cámara, para darle su último debate y que se convierta en una reforma a la Constitución”, añadió el representante del departamento del Huila.
El proyecto, producto de los últimos acuerdos en el debate anterior en la plenaria de Senado, establece ahora que aunque se reduce un mes el receso legislativo, este tiempo podrá destinarse solo para discutir proyectos de leyes ordinarias y adelantar debates de control político.
Los ponentes optaron por continuar con este apartado así, que imposibilita el trámite de actos legislativos y proyectos de leyes estatutarias del 16 de febrero al 15 de marzo. Según los congresistas, con este mes inicial será para discutir mayoritariamente proyectos de origen confesional, y no agenda del Gobierno. Pese a que tuvo varias críticas, la iniciativa se avaló así en su penúltimo debate.
