El Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar (ICBF) se hará cargo de los cuatro niños indígenas que durante 40 días estuvieron perdidos en la selva del Guaviare, tras sobrevivir a un accidente aéreo en el que viajaban junto a su madre, otro adulto y el piloto, durante seis meses.
Así lo confirmó este viernes la directora del ICBF, Astrid Cáceres, el mismo día en el que se confirmó la salida de los menores del Hospital Militar de Bogotá, en el que permanecían desde su rescate el pasado 9 de junio.
Por el momento, tras la salida del centro médico, los cuatro hermanos permanecen en un centro de protección infantil del ICBF del que no se ha revelado la ubicación, aunque Cáceres indicó que “se ha buscado un entorno rural” para que los niños se sientan cómodos.
“Ellos han expresado sentirse tranquilos, en todas las decisiones ellos van mostrando las rutas”, agregó la directora del ICBF para indicar que su regreso a la vida cotidiana tomará seis meses, durante los cuales la defensora que se encarga del caso indagará en el entorno y contexto familiar para tomar una decisión sobre su futura custodia.
“En este momento se debe tener más contexto sobre el entramado familiar”, indicó Cáceres, una tarea para la que contarán con la ayuda y acompañamiento de comunidades indígenas.
Esta segunda fase que arranca, continuó la funcionaria, tendrá como objetivo “cuidarlos y protegerlos hasta que exista un entorno seguro” para ellos fuera de la custodia del ICBF.
El milagro de los niños
Los cuatro hermanos se encuentran “muy bien”, después de que el 9 de junio fueran rescatados tras 40 días perdidos en la selva y trasladados al Hospital Militar, a donde llegaron con un pronunciado estado de desnutrición, deshidratación e infecciones.
Cáceres confirmó que los menores “han recuperado talla y peso” y que se “sintieron muy protegidos al salir del hospital ya que se contó con el acompañamiento de las organizaciones indígenas”.
Se trata de la niña de 13 años Lesly Mukutuy, quien se encargó de cuidar durante 40 días de sus hermanos Soleiny Mukutuy, de 9; Tien Noriel Ranoque Mukutuy, de 5 años, y Cristin Neruman Ranoque, una bebé que cumplió su primer año de vida en la selva amazónica ubicada entre los departamentos de Caquetá y Guaviare.
Los menores fueron hallados en un punto remoto entre Caquetá y Guaviare donde fueron buscados sin descanso durante semanas por unos 200 militares, entre ellos comandos de las Fuerzas Especiales del Ejército, e indígenas de la zona, todos integrados en la “Operación Esperanza”.
La custodia de los cuatro podría recaer en los abuelos maternos o en el padre quien, según varios medios, ha sido acusado de violencia machista contra la madre.
El accidente aéreo de un avión Cessna 206 operado por la compañía Avianline Charter´s en el que viajaban ocurrió el pasado 1 de mayo y causó la muerte de el piloto, la madre de los niños y un líder indígena que los acompañaba.
Finalmente se anunció que por instrucción presidencial del Instituto de Bienestar Familiar, se adelanta la configuración de una fiducia con el objetivo de garantizar el bueno uso de los recursos de los que se puedan beneficiar los hermanos por donaciones o aportes de particulares para su futuro.
