Desde hace cuatro días, los delegados de la FIFA Jaime Yarza (Tournaments Director), Marina San Miguel (Youth Tournaments) y Marely Flores (Senior Womens Tournaments Manager), estuvieron en el país realizando la primera visita oficial con miras a la organización del Mundial Femenino Sub-20.
En la sede de la Federación Colombiana de Fútbol se reunieron los tres delegados y el presidente Ramón Jesurun Franco, Andrés Tamayo – Secretario General, Pilar Abella – Gerente General e Iván Novella – Director de Desarrollo; quienes trataron temas de planificación general del torneo, aspectos logísticos, financieros y el cronograma conjunto.
La visita se extendió a las ciudades de Barranquilla, Cartagena y Bogotá, allí se revisaron aspectos logísticos, de transporte, infraestructura, lugares de entrenamientos y los estadios con los que cuenta cada una de estas ciudades, que aspiran a convertirse en sedes de la cita mundialista, inicialmente.
El Director de Desarrollo, Ivan Novilla declaró que: “Todas las ciudades dejaron una grata impresión. Fue una semana muy positiva, las autoridades locales están con mucho entusiasmo y disposición de atender los requerimientos necesarios para que desarrollemos el torneo de la mejor manera. Los delegados de FIFA, se fueron con una percepción favorable, de como Colombia puede responder a un evento de tan gran magnitud como este”.
Esta es una de las primeras visitas de una hoja de ruta que se llevará a cabo para continuar evaluando diferentes aspectos importantes para la cita orbital.
Las partes se volverán a reunir en septiembre, en ese viaje visitarán otras ciudades que también son candidatas, revisarán avances con relación a los hospedajes, la seguridad de la competencia y los planes operacionales, que deben ejecutar los involucrados.
