Consumo de agua potable, manejo de residuos sólidos y buenas prácticas de higiene, fueron algunas de las capacitaciones realizadas por funcionarios de la Empresa Aguas y Aseo de Risaralda – EAAR en las comunidades de las veredas La Punta y La Loma del resguardo unificado Embera Chamí, río San Juan.
Así lo dio a conocer el gestor social de la EAAR, Willmer Alexis Leguizamo Rincón, quien añadió que estas actividades se encuentran enmarcadas en los procesos de empoderamiento social y comunitario alrededor de la operación de los sistemas no convencionales para la potabilización de agua, tipo Scall.
“La pertinencia de estas temáticas radica en las características propias de una cultura que históricamente ha padecido limitaciones en el acceso a servicios públicos, motivo por el cual ha conservado patrones de comportamiento que reclaman una adaptación a las exigencias actuales asociadas a los riesgos ambientales y al papel de circunstancias como el incremento poblacional, condiciones que han configurado un panorama sanitario con presiones crecientes para el ejercicio de habitar”, precisó Leguizamo Rincón.

Durante la jornada académica fueron beneficiados los integrantes del Club Defensor del Agua de las veredas La Loma y La Punta, mujeres, líderes y autoridades locales, en aras de la gestión de la gobernanza ambiental y sanitaria, desde la apropiación social de los sistemas de potabilización de agua implementados, fundamentando dicho proceso en el diálogo intercultural.
