El futuro de los pasaportes en Colombia sigue siendo incierto y ahora más al conocerse que Thomas Greg, la única empresa que figuraba para quedarse con el contrato y que lleva al frente de ese proceso desde 2006, decidió retirarse de sus puestos de personalización de libretas el próximo 2 de octubre.
La decisión de la empresa fue anunciada luego de que el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores declarara desierta la licitación para la producción de pasaportes.
La compañía anunció que interpondrá acciones legales contra la decisión del canciller Álvaro Leyva que dejó desierta la licitación para el suministro de pasaportes y visas, por lo que también decidió anunciar el retiro de sus puestos de personalización de libretas.
De esta manera, 300.000 pasaportes quedarán paralizados porque no habrá quien los llene, y teniendo en cuenta que la preocupación es tan grande, pues solamente en octubre de 2022, fueron solicitados 206.000 pasaportes.
