Entre el 19 y el 22 de octubre en la ciudad de Bogotá se desarrolló Cafés de Colombia Expo 2023, donde más de 26.000 visitantes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer lo mejor de la caficultura de Risaralda gracias a un esfuerzo compartido por la Gobernación, el Comité de Cafeteros y la Cooperativa de Caficultores para la participación de los productores y asociaciones risaraldenses.
“Esta es la feria más importante de Latinoamérica y ha incrementado la participación en un 25%; más 26.000 visitantes, y el stand de Risaralda fue uno de los más visitados de la feria. Siempre hubo unas cuarenta o cincuenta personas alrededor del stand probando buen café especial”, aseguró el secretario de Desarrollo Agropecuario de Risaralda, Luis Alberto Duque.
El titular de la cartera rural se refirió a la necesidad de estimular el consumo local y declaró que “el café especial de nosotros es más consumido y más buscado por el extranjero; veíamos en la feria que nos buscaban muchísimo los europeos o los asiáticos, personas de Corea, rusos, franceses, venían a buscar el café de Colombia, del Eje Cafetero y de Risaralda”.
La gran noticia para el departamento es que Noralba Benítez, del municipio de Apía, fue reconocida como la productora del mejor café de Colombia al obtener el primer puesto del concurso Liderando con Calidad, organizado por Cafés de Colombia Expo 2023 y reconocido por la World Coffee Events, que es la mayor autoridad mundial en certámenes de este tipo.
“Muchas gracias a la Gobernación, a Dios sobre todas las cosas, a todas las entidades como el Comité de Cafeteros y a don Hernando Tapasco que fue una gran ayuda también. Este triunfo no me lo esperaba, pero es algo grandioso, por eso invito a todos los caficultores a que sigan adelante y a todas las entidades que nos colaboraron para sacar estos proyectos”, declaró la risaraldense Noralba Benítez, quien ahora es oficialmente la mejor caficultora del país.
Por su parte, Adriana Isabel Ardila fue una de las 26.000 personas aproximadas que visitaron Corferias en la ciudad de Bogotá para adentrarse en lo más especializado de la caficultura nacional: “De lo que he podido conocer en cuanto a la preparación y los cafés especiales, llamó mucho mi atención, cómo sobresale Risaralda con cafés de excelente calidad, con unas tostiones espectaculares y con unos sabores que realmente destacan de otras regiones de Colombia entregándonos un excelente producto”.
