Luego de la inspección a 25 estaciones de servicio (EDS) en Pereira, la Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio identificó que diez de estas no cumplían con los requisitos que permiten información clara y legible de los precios de combustible para los consumidores.
Debido a lo anterior, la SIC llevará a cabo las investigaciones pertinentes en las diez Estaciones de Servicio (EDS) por las faltas o diferencias en la información, las cuales representan el 19% de las EDS en Pereira. Dichas estaciones son: Estación de Servicio Urbanos de Pereira, EDS Terpel Mercasa, Coral Gas Ltda, 17 con carrera 17, Parque Olaya de Terpel; EDS de GNV avenida de Texaco; estación de servicio Mobil Centenario, Distracom Matecaña, Corales Ltda de Primax; y Distracom Ciudad Victoria de Biomax.
La SIC habría descubierto que el valor anunciado en las vallas no correspondía al encontrado en los surtidores, lo que resulta en la afectación y confusión del usuario al tomar decisiones.
En la capital de Risaralda, hay registradas 51 Estaciones de Servicio (EDS), de las cuales se encontró que el 20% no está informando de manera adecuada a los habitantes de Pereira sobre el valor del combustible.
En relación con el servicio de venta de combustible, la SIC supervisa aspectos como la publicidad de los precios, la calidad del producto y el control metrológico que garantiza que el usuario reciba la cantidad ofertada.
A raíz del caso de Pereira, la SIC recordó a las empresas que suministran el combustible que, de comprobarse las irregularidades mencionadas, podrían enfrentarse a multas que ascienden a 2.000 salarios mínimos mensuales legales vigentes (smmlv), lo que representaría más de 2.000 millones de pesos.

Alberto Arias, presidente ejecutivo del gremio de distribuidores de combustibles Imzacom, afirmó a Caracol Radio que lo encontrado por la SIC podría tratarse de una malinterpretación de los funcionarios que hicieron la inspección:
“Como distribuidores minoristas y como estaciones de servicio, reconocemos y acatamos respetuosamente, también hemos visto que es un tema de interpretación y en su momento podríamos decir que un poco subjetiva, toda vez que se trata de ubicación de avisos de precios que para los funcionarios que fueron delegados deberían existir en algunas entradas; que para nuestra óptica, son suficientes los existentes, y en otro caso específico tiene que ver con el aviso digital del surtidor que es un poco borroso, legible, pero que eso no tiene ninguna afectación en el consumidor final (sic)”, afirmó Arias.
El ejecutivo agregó que el anuncio de la SIC es preocupante, pues genera una mala imagen y reputación en las EDS mencionadas, pues da lugar a otros juicios por parte de los consumidores.
“Hemos venido haciendo la aclaración porque realmente lo que nos preocupa en este tipo de comunicados por parte de la SIC es lo que se viene generando por las redes sociales y en el ambiente de los consumidores habituales de las estaciones. Lo que han manifestado es que esas diez estaciones, que están vinculadas al proceso de investigación, están manifestando que se presenta una estafa en la calidad y la cantidad de los combustibles, lo cual no es cierto”, enfatizó Arias.
