Desde el 8 de julio Latam Airlines comenzó a ofrecer vuelos económicos, que compiten directamente con las aerolíneas de bajo costo, como Viva Colombia que ha ofreció tiquetes desde 22 mil pesos.
De acuerdo con los expertos, “esta es una prueba más de que la industria de las aerolíneas busca capturar clientes. A junio de este año, las ‘low cost ‘tienen una participación en el mercado colombiano del 16%, de acuerdo con la Asociación de Transporte Aéreo (ATAC)”.
El modelo busca que los pasajeros incorporen los servicios necesarios para su vuelo. Es decir, opciones como transportar la maleta en bodega o reservar asiento. Frente a esto, “Latam ha reaccionado con descuentos de hasta el 37% en los tiquetes aunque los usuarios tienen menos servicios”, agregó portavoz de la aerolínea.
