Andrés Pastrana y Jorge Quiroga, expresidentes de Colombia y Bolivia respectivamente solicitaron a los mandatarios Juan Manuel Santos y Evo Morales convocar de manera urgente una cumbre presidencial de Unasur para tratar la grave crisis de Venezuela.
“El país enfrenta una catástrofe humanitaria, una debacle económica y vive sometida a una feroz represión. Su economía se ha contraído, la inflación es más alta que en Zimbaue, la criminalidad peor que en Siria y la escasez parecida a la de Sudán”, se lee en la misiva que publicó Pastrana en su cuenta de Twitter.
Ambos exmandatarios también piden que, de efectuarse la cumbre, se invite a participar una representación de la oposición y de la Conferencia Episcopal Venezolana (CEV). Y lamentaron lo sucedido en la sede del Parlamento donde colectivos chavistas atacaron a varios diputados y periodistas.
“Las circunstancias actuales, que describimos sucintamente, claramente ameritan que ustedes convoquen una Cumbre Presidencial de Unasur para salvar a la hermana Venezuela, además de actuar en el seno de la OEA para activar la Carta Democrática”, dicen Pastrana y Quiroga.
