El combinado patrio se fue arriba en el marcador en el primer tiempo, pero luego las argentinas anotaron el empate. Durante el segundo tiempo el equipo colombiano dominó y mostró mejor juego, pero no llegó el gol.
Ya en tiempo complementario el resultado se mantuvo 1-1, pese a dos opciones claras de gol por parte de las cafeteras. En penaltis el resultado fue 7-6.
