● Por lo menos una vez al año, las mascotas deben ser vacunadas contra el virus de la rabia. La Administración “Empresa de Todos” adelanta jornadas de vacunación sin ningún costo.
Dosquebradas, 09 de junio de 2020. Con el propósito de evitar el contagio de la rabia y prevenir su propagación, la Secretaría de Salud y Seguridad Social a través del programa de Zoonosis, viene realizando jornadas de vacunación antirrábica en las diferentes comunas y corregimientos del municipio, beneficiando a cerca de 5307 caninos y felinos.
“Estamos vacunando a nuestros animales de compañía, perros y gatos, contra el virus de la rabia en el sector de Campestre D, pero también hemos beneficiado a las comunas 1, 2 y 3. Hemos reactivado todas estas jornadas de vacunación porque queremos eliminar el virus de la rabia en nuestro municipio. Por eso, hoy estamos invitando a todas las personas que tengan animales de compañía para se beneficien de estas estrategias que estamos promoviendo en sus lugares de residencia”, indicó la titular del despacho de Salud, Bibiana Romero Olarte.
La funcionaria explicó que estas jornadas de vacunación se están desarrollando con los protocolos de bioseguridad respectivos, para evitar la propagación del Covid-19 y así brindarles más seguridad y bienestar a los asistentes con sus mascotas.
“Sabemos que está circulando el virus del Covid-19 en la ciudad, por lo que invitamos a la comunidad para que implementen las medidas de protección y así evitar posibles contagios. Sin embargo, también tenemos que cuidar a nuestros animales del virus de la rabia que puede llegar a ser mortal para nuestras mascotas, ya que es una enfermedad zoonótica; si le da al animal de compañía, nos lo puede transmitir a nosotros los humanos. Por esta razón, no podemos dejar de vacunar a nuestros animalitos”, agregó Bibiana Romero.
Por su parte, una habitante del barrio Campestre D y cuidadora de siete gatos, Viviana Velasco, resaltó la importancia de estas jornadas de salud animal promovidas por la Administración Municipal y manifestó que “para mí son muy importantes estas jornadas porque siempre nos previene de muchas enfermedades y, como mis mascotas mantienen en la casa, pueden evitarme posibles epidemias. Estoy muy agradecida con el alcalde Diego Ramos porque manda a sus funcionarios para que realicen estas actividades que son muy importantes para el cuidado y el bienestar de los perros y gatos del municipio”.
