El ministro de Salud y Protección Social, Fernando Ruiz Gómez, frente a la extensión de la cuarentena enfatizó la importancia de mantener las medidas de protección.
“El distanciamiento físico, el lavado de manos y el uso de tapabocas, siguen siendo la mejor medida de prevención ante el covid-19. En la medida en que se logre contener la epidemia y se mantenga baja la tasa de afectación se podrá activar acciones de contención focalizadas como las realizadas en Barranquilla, Leticia y Cartagena”, dijo el ministro Ruiz.
Frente al contagio de coronavirus en las diferentes regiones del país, el ministro explicó que “estamos teniendo afectaciones en regiones con diferente velocidad de transmisión, hay ciudades que van más adelante como Cartagena, Barranquilla, Cali y Bogotá, mientras que hay otras ciudades que van más retrasadas ante el contagio. Con esta información lo que hacemos es que las autoridades en salud actúan y toman medidas para mitigar y controlar la trasmisión del virus.
Agregó que es importante no bajar la guardia y mantener el distanciamiento físico. “En esta época de apertura económica la comunidad debe entender que si no cumplimos estas medidas en la apertura no lograremos contener el contagio”, afirmó.
Frente a los ataques al personal médico el ministro fue enfático en que “el Gobierno Nacional rechaza cualquier ataque a médicos y profesionales de la salud. Ellos están para atendernos y asistir nos, así que quienes hagan parte de este tipo de agresiones serán denunciados ante las autoridades competentes y deberán responder por este tipo de acciones”.
Entrega de ventiladores
El Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social mediante la Resolución 1000 del 2020 hizo entrega de 130 ventiladores para mejorar la capacidad instalada de la Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) en Bogotá, de igual manera el Gobierno Nacional está haciendo entrega de dotación de equipos en todo el país.
“Desde el Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social hemos adquirido 2.767 ventiladores de los cuales más de 1.000 estarán llegando entre los meses de julio y agosto, además desde el Fondo de Mitigación de Emergencias –FOME se han adquirido 1.600 ventiladores, para un total de 4.000”, sostuvo Ruiz Gómez.
Con relación a la distribución de ventiladores, el jefe de la cartera de Salud explicó que en Barranquilla se han entregado 99 ventiladores, en Cartagena 29, Quibdó 10, Buenaventura 30 y otros en Villavicencio. Esta dotación ha permitido ampliar la capacidad de las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos en diferentes partes del territorio Nacional.
“Adicional se cuenta con el apoyo de la Asociación Colombiana de Medicina Crítica y Cuidado Intensivo que junto con las entidades territoriales en un trabajo conjunto dan el entrenamiento al talento humano, como está ocurriendo en Amazonas y Quibdó, lugares a los que se ha llevado personal para dar formación”.
Elementos de bioseguridad
En el tema de elementos de bioseguridad el ministro explicó que “hemos mejorado sustancialmente en este tema”.
“Al inicio se presentó una situación muy compleja por la carencia de estos equipos a nivel internacional, sin embargo a la fecha se han entregado a través de las Administradoras de Riesgos Laborales (ARL) 21 millones de Elementos de Protección Personal (EPP) y a través de la Presidencia de la República estamos adquiriendo una reserva estratégica”, destacó.
