Dejó de ser ensamblado en Colombia en 2016, hoy sigue evolucionando
Desde 1990, el Renault Clio está rodando por muchos países del mundo más de 15 millones de unidades vendidas de las diferentes versiones y generaciones de este modelo, que llegó Colombia en 1992 con la versión RT de 5 puertas con motor 1.4 Litros.
A partir de 1996, la primera generación del Clio empezó a ser ensamblada en la planta de Sofasa y en 2001 fue remplazada por el Clio II, modelo que sirvió de base durante 15 años, para las diversas evoluciones de diseño, equipamiento y motorización que fueron lanzadas en este mercado.
Sin embargo, el Clio ha tenido una dinámica diferente en el viejo continente, donde sigue evolucionando y ha llegado a una quinta generación, además de convertirse en uno de los autos más vendidos en Europa.
La marca del rombo anuncia que para conmemorar los 30 años del Clio, lo ha dotado de la tecnología híbrida E-TECH, y cómo recordar es vivir, a continuación algunos detalles de las cinco generaciones del Renault Clio:
Renault Clio I:
La llegada del Clio, modelo que remplazó al Renault 5 en 1990 marca una primera revolución: a partir de ese momento, los modelos del rombo ya no son designados por números sino por nombres propios, con el fin de mejorar la memorización de los vehículos y darles una dimensión más cálida y más humana. Desde su lanzamiento, el Clio se convierte en líder de ventas en Francia y es nombrado Coche del Año en Europa.
