Sara López y Jaime Eduardo González representarán el pundonor cafetero en la cita mundialista en Birmingham, Alabama, del 7 al 17 de julio.
La Gobernación de Risaralda no termina de informa sobre un triunfo en un país, para pasar a otro. Así son los deportistas que representan a Risaralda Casta de Campeones, tierra de atletas que sigue consolidando su talento por el mundo.
Esta vez será en Estados Unidos donde el corazón de la arquera Sara López y el bolichero Jaime Eduardo González estará a mil por segundo, al integrar la delegación colombiana compuesta por 65 atletas que competirán en 12 disciplinas deportivas.
Precisamente, Sara López viene de ganar tres medallas de oro bolivarianas y es entre el equipo Colombia, la deportista más sonada para ratificar su título mundial obtenido en Polonia 2017.
Sara llega con un desgaste en su cuerpo que le dejó la competencia en Valledupar, por lo que ha cuidado su alimentación y su descanso desde que aterrizó en Alabama.
Por su parte, Jaime Eduardo González arribó a Birmingham con una semana más de descanso. González también obtuvo medalla de oro en Bolivarianos, es decir, sus sensaciones son altas.
“Realmente muy contentos de estar en este evento. Esperamos que nos vaya muy bien, es un escenario nuevo que montaron en un centro de convenciones, con ocho pistas y se van a jugar modalidades diferentes. En ese aspecto estamos con la incertidumbre, pero preparados para lo que va a pasar, esperamos que nos vaya muy bien”, compartió Jaime González, desde Estados Unidos.
La competencia en el bowling del evento multideportivo inicia este jueves 07 de julio; mientras que las pruebas en arquería abren el viernes 8 de julio.
Sara López consiguió bronce en los Juegos Mundiales Cali 2013, oro en los Juegos Mundiales Wroclaw 2017, y espera hacer una figuración especial en mixtos para este 2022.
Jaime González buscará hacer historia con la selección, pues son sus primeros Juegos Mundiales.
