El Ministerio de Salud presentó las proyecciones de vacunas contra la COVID-19 que llegarían al país durante los meses de febrero y marzo, aunque aclaró que eso sí, la disponibilidad depende de la confirmación por parte de los respectivos fabricantes.
Antes de finalizar este mes se esperan en Colombia 4 lotes de inmunizantes de diferentes farmacéuticas.
Según el documento, en lo que falta del mes de febrero llegarían de negociaciones bilaterales 192.000 dosis de vacunas de Sinovac y 100.000 de Pfizer, aunque también se importarían algunas dosis adquiridas a través del mecanismo Covax, de las cuales 117.000 de Pfizer y 750.000 de AstraZeneca. También se reveló que en marzo llegarían 4. 558.000 dosis.
“Para los próximos dos meses se proyecta la llegada de vacunas de los laboratorios de Sinovac y Pfizer a través de las compras bilaterales, pero también por parte del mecanismo multilateral Covax, mediante el cual llegarán los biológicos de AstraZeneca”, afirmó Germán Escobar, jefe de gabinete del Ministerio de Salud.
De otra parte, el funcionario destacó que este inicio de la inmunización contra la COVID-19 en el personal de salud se dará en los municipios que cuenten con Unidades de Cuidado Intensivo (UCI), urgencias y hospitalización para el tratamiento COVID.
“Se prevé que, dadas sus características y cadena de frío, esta fase inicial se cubra principalmente con vacunas del laboratorio Pfizer”, agregó Escobar.
