La Región Administrativa y de Planificación RAP Eje Cafetero celebra la realización exitosa de la VIII versión de ExpoEje Café donde – gracias al liderazgo de los Gobernadores de Tolima, Ricardo Orozco; Quindío, Roberto Jairo Jaramillo; Risaralda, Víctor Manuel Tamayo y Caldas, Luis Carlos Velásquez, nuestros productores de Cafés Especiales en la Región RAP tuvieron durante 3 días consecutivos 40 stand, 10 por departamento – de los 160 que hubo en la feria – en el Parque del Café, completamente financiados por la RAP, más 10 adicionales que aportó el Tolima, compartiendo ante asistentes y compradores lo mejor de nuestros Cafés Especiales y productos del campo.
La RAP Eje Cafetero, durante la misiva comercial realizada en abril del presente año en la Feria Mundial de Café Specialty Coffee Expo (SCA), realizada en Boston, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, identificó 9 Roaster internacionales – compradores potenciales – provenientes de Estados Unidos, Chile, Holanda e Italia y los trajo con todo incluido durante 8 días a los departamentos de Tolima, Quindío, Risaralda y Caldas para – en un trabajo articulado con las Secretarías de Agricultura Departamentales – visitar fincas en los 4 departamentos, conocer los perfiles, dialogar con los productores, realizar cataciones y ruedas de negocios que, sumadas a su participación durante el fin de semana en ExpoEje Café, se constituyeron en la gran plataforma comercial para posicionar nuestra Región e internacionalizar un Café de gran calidad.

El toque internacional de la subasta, lo puso la RAP Eje Cafetero. Dentro de las actividades principales realizadas durante la ExpoEje Café 2022, se llevó a cabo el fin de semana la subasta de los 12 mejores Cafés del Quindío donde los Roaster internacionales – traídos por la RAP Eje Cafetero – pujaron por 8 lotes de los cuales lograron comprar 4 lotes de Café, en pergamino seco. Dichos lotes pronto estarán rumbo a los países de origen de los Roaster que los adquirieron, junto a otros lotes de Caldas, Tolima y Risaralda, actualmente en negociación.
Se estima que en los próximos días se den cierres adicionales de negocios por departamento, que generen oportunidades comerciales para los productores que participaron en las cataciones, dinamizando así el sector, generando oportunidades de empleo y reactivando la economía regional, en reconocimiento a la labor de aquellos caficultores que producen Café de alta calidad.
