La Gobernación de Risaralda a través de la Coordinación Departamental de Gestión del Riesgo, CDGRD, hace un llamado a las Alcaldías y organismos de socorro, para identificar los sectores de riesgo y adoptar medidas que permitan minimizar la vulnerabilidad de las zonas de influencia, así como también, hacer un llamado a la comunidad a estar alerta ante cualquier afectación y de igual forma comunicarse con las Bomberos y/o Defensa Civil para desarrollar las acciones correspondientes.
El Ideam también emitió una alerta amarilla para la cuenca del río Otún, ante la probabilidad de ocurrencia de crecientes súbitas, especialmente a su paso por los municipios Santa Rosa de Cabal, Dosquebradas, Marsella y Pereira. Así mismo, los municipios de Apía, Mistrató y La Virginia y en el municipio de Viterbo en el departamento de Caldas, se encuentran en alerta amarilla ante la probabilidad de creciente súbita en la cuenca del río Risaralda.
