Este año, WRO combina robótica e inteligencia artificial para cambiar el mundo.
La (WRO) World Robotic Olympiad Association es una competencia global dedicada a la ciencia, la tecnología y la educación, con el objetivo de brindarle a los jóvenes la oportunidad de desarrollar su creatividad y habilidades para resolver problemas de una manera divertida, atractiva y diferente.
Cada año, se organizan las competencias de robótica con diferentes temas que se adaptan a la edad de los participantes. Juliana Guerrero, organizadora de la competencia e integrante del comité WRO Colombia, dijo en el programa La Nube que los torneos se organizan en más de 85 países y cada año se van uniendo más.
En Colombia, el año pasado participaron más de 36 equipos con estudiantes desde los 8 hasta los 19 años, todos ellos de 12 diferentes municipios del país, llegando a ser así el único representante de Suramérica en la final. Para este año, la organizadora señaló que se está conformando la selección Colombia para asistir a la competencia que tiene como objetivo ayudar a los jóvenes a desarrollar su creatividad y habilidades para resolver problemas de una manera divertida y atractiva.
Adicionalmente, Guerrero señaló que las inscripciones estarán abiertas hasta el 31 de agosto y los ganadores podrán viajar a la final internacional, que se llevará a cabo en Alemania a finales de este año.
En esta ocasión, la temática central será “Mi robot, Mi amigo”, y se contempla que la combinación de robótica e inteligencia artificial pueda cambiar el mundo, especialmente, el entorno de los humanos. Con este fin, se busca incentivar a los participantes a resolver los retos que conlleva las tareas cotidianas cómo: los deberes del hogar, el rescate en situaciones de emergencia o el apoyo en el área de la salud.
Finalmente, Guerrero manifestó su deseo de apoyar todas estas iniciativas que involucran a los jóvenes con tecnología y robótica, e invitó a visitar las redes sociales WRO Colombia para encontrar más información.
